Our Structured Program For Toddlers & Preschoolers
Program for Toddlers
Toddlers are happy to explore the world around them using their senses. Senses and emotions are the driving force behind toddlers' thoughts and actions at this impressionable time. Therefore, sensory activities such as the sand and water table, singing, looking at picture books, and using items of different textures to create artwork are examples of activities within our toddler curriculum. In addition, teaching toddlers how to use their words to communicate with teachers and peers effectively will be emphasized with each child every day. To learn more about our curriculum, keep reading or visit Rodi Daycare Center in Bronx, NY, or call (718) 601-0406 ex.03.
In addition to meeting toddlers' developmental social/emotional needs, we will introduce them to colors, letters, and numbers through art, music, and sensory activities. Finally, your toddler will read aloud every single day to solidify pre-reading skills and foster a love for reading at an early age. Board books, "touch-and-feel" books, and vibrant picture books will be available at our center for exploration at all times
Additionally, potty training is an essential part of a toddlers' development, and our staff is supportive of the methods chosen by parents. Our center is equipped with a changing area and toddler-sized toilets. We believe in cheering toddlers on with love and positive reinforcement for toileting.
Our toddlers have an opportunity to engage in both fine-motor and gross-motor activities and nap time, circle time, and snack time. Blocks, a dramatic-play area, and safe toys will be a part of our free play time, offered twice each day.
Preschool Enrollment
By the age of three, preschoolers have acquired some language and fine and gross motor skills and are ready to engage in academic and creative cognitive activities. However, we are aware that each child grows at their rate, and with preschool comes a wide range of abilities. Our mission is to tailor our preschool instruction to meet the individual developmental needs of each child. With a focus on creativity and social skills, we are building a theme-centered curriculum with a strong emphasis on the arts and literacy.
Each month, our entire center focuses on one idea (for example, apples, butterflies, dinosaurs, snow, and winter), and this idea is explored across all disciplines. These activities allow our students to make connections between math, literacy, science, music, and art, focusing on a real-world idea that interests them. Your child will have read to them quality children's literature and discussions surrounding it each day to foster a love of reading before they enter Kindergarten. Within the preschool curriculum, there are constants within the classroom. Centers for blocks, toys, books, sensory activities, painting, and dramatic play will be available to your child daily. Often, the weekly theme connects to the free play activities. During free-play time, teachers are engaged with your children and observe their learning and play experience to better understand each child and their unique personality.
Our objective as preschool educators is to prepare your child for kindergarten and elementary school in a manner that respects their creativity and individuality. Our staff is warm, caring, and loves the company of young children.
